NTPC’s objective is to institutionalise these core values and create a culture of team building, empowerment, equity, innovation and openness which would motivate employees and enable achievement of strategic objectives.

The main challenge in the context of our core values is its usage and relevance in day to day activities. To this end, we have taken various steps, namely, creating a weightage for values in our Performance Management Systems; Conduct training programmes on values and including sessions on values in our key programmes; Rewarding value based behaviour and creation of Value Actualisation Task force. A Vision & Values Revisit Workshop by our top management is a major component of our core value actualisation.

Far removed from the buzz of cities, our townships are the epitome of serenity, natural beauty and close community living. A range of welfare and recreation facilities including schools, hospitals and social clubs are provided at the townships to enhance the quality of life & the well being of employees and their families. An entire gamut of benefits, from child care leave to post retirement medical benefits are extended to employees to meet any exigency that may arise in a person's life.

We recognise the role played by rewards & recognitions in motivating our colleagues. To this end, we have created a culture of rewards and appreciation through celebration of various achievements and recognising the contributions behind such success. There are reward schemes for individuals and teams excelling in their work right from the stage of project construction to the running of the power station, as well as, awards for special events/competitions where employees can demonstrate their competence and skills. NTPC also recognises the contribution of employees’ families by involving them in various events and competitions on a regular basis.
