Dr. Arup Roy Choudhury, CMD, NTPC addressed Post Graduate Program for Executives at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta for a course" Being a CEO"in Kolkata recently.
Addressing the Executives through a presentation Dr. Roy Choudhury said that a CEO is a role model, a father and a decision maker for the organization and therefore has to be selfless and humble. He emphasized on the need for motivating the people to align them with corporate goals and be ready for personal and professional scrutiny at all times. He shared his own personal experiences and spoke of no fixed formula or theory for being a successful CEO, he asked the students create their own management theories of success. The talk was followed by an interaction.
The course being a CEO serves a platform for top management executives across sectors to provide practical insight into the challenges and responsibilities associated with the role of a CEO.
" Management by Idiots" book written by Dr. Roy Choudhury was also displayed on the occasion and received a enthusiastic response from the students. The book published by McGraw-Hill has been very well received and gone for second reprint.
