A Meeting held by Hon’ble CM of AP with CMD/NTPC on 8th July, 2014.

State Energy Conservation Mission

Dr. Arup Roy Choudhury, Chairman & Managing Director/NTPC along with Sri N N Mishra, Dir. (Operations) and Sri A K Jha, Dir. (Technical) met Sri N Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of AP.

Sri JSV Prasad (Principal Sec. Industries, GoAP), Sri G Sai Prasad (Sec. to Hon’ble CM, GoAP), Sri Ajay Jain (Sec. Energy, GoAP), Sri Vijayanand (MD, APGENCO & CMD APTRANSCO) were also present.

Hon’ble CM requested CMD/NTPC to expedite work on setting up of 4000 MW at Pudimadaka. Principal Sec. Industries was directed to finalize a suitable site within 15 days, so that NTPC can go ahead with setting up power project.

CMD/NTPC informed that about 200 MW from NTPC Jhajjar & 100 MW from NTPC Barh can be provided to AP immediately. Hon’ble CM directed Energy Dept to avail power from the above projects by entering PPAs with the above projects. It was also decided to avail power from NTPC Farakka on long term basis.

NTPC also agreed to set up a 300 MW solar park in Guntur Dist., through competitive bidding, so that AP can get solar energy at lowest tariff. This will add green energy to AP’s power portfolio.
