NTPC project Darlipali in Orissa to take off

The construction work at NTPC project Darlipali shall commence soon with the assurance from the state government that the land acquisition shall be completed by December 10, 2012. Shri Arup Roy Choudhury , CMD , NTPC, Shri B.P. Rao CMD, BHEL and Shri N.N. Misra , Director (Operations), NTPC met the Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister yesterday to discuss issues delaying the commencement of the project.
NTPC is expected to invest approx. Rs. 11400 crore on the 1600 MW project. NTPC presently has two projects in the State of Orissa Talcher Thermal ( 460 MW) and Talcher Kaniha ( 3000 MW).
Situated at the Sundargarh District of Orissa Darlipali project shall get coal from Dulanga Mine and water from Hirakud Reservoir. The equipment for the plant has been placed with BHEL and BGR – Hitachi. The forest clearance for the Dulanga mine is also expected shortly.
