NTPC’s Profit after tax for H1 up by 13.25%.

NTPC Limited, India’s largest power generating company has announced results for the quarter and half year ended 30th September, 2009. The total income for the half year ended 30th September 2009 is Rs. 24302.75 crore as compared to Rs. 20662.91 crore reported in the corresponding half year of the previous year, a growth of 17.62%. The profit for the first half of current fiscal posted 13.25% rise at Rs. 4345.57 crore against net profit of Rs. 3837.04 crore for the corresponding period last year.
Recorded highest ever generation in first half year of 105.859 Billion Units, achieved PLF of 87.62% for the coal-based stations. The gas stations have registered highest ever H1 PLF of 78.37% till date.
The company has total installed capacity of 30644 MW through 26 power stations including joint ventures. The company has capacity addition target of becoming 50 GW by 2012 and 75 GW by 2017 and currently has 17,930 MW under construction.
