Bangladesh
1320 MW (2x 660 MW) power project in Bangladesh.
NTPC is developing efficient Advanced Ultra Super Critical Technology based 1320 MW coal based project in Bangladesh in JV with Bangladesh Power Development Board, one unit of which is under commercially operation since December 2022 and the second unit is expected for commercial operation in early 2024.
Sri Lanka
NTPC is setting up solar PV and LNG based power project in Sri Lanka.
Trincomalee Power Company Limited (TPCL)- A 50:50 Joint venture between NTPC Ltd. and Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), was incorporated in Sri Lanka for development of Power Project. Government of Sri Lanka issued Letter of Intent (LoI) to NTPC for setting up of 50 MW (extendable to 135 MW) solar power project at Sampur, and 300 MW LNG power plant at Kerawalapitiya.
Various activities such as project agreements finalization, implementation agreement finalization etc. are under progress for the solar power project at Sampur.
