Awards were presented by Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Union Minister for Labour and Employment at Vigyan Bhjawan in New Delhi on September, 17, 2009.
22 NTPC employees were awarded Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar for the year 2007. 21 employees of Ramagundam and one employee from Jhanor Gandhar were awarded Vishwakarma Rashtriya Puraskar.
In many undertakings “Suggestion Schemes” are in operation and awards are given for suggestions leading to any outstanding achievement or good performance on the part of workers in increasing productivity. VRP provides public recognition of such outstanding achievement on the part of the workers at the national level. The VRP are awarded in recognition of outstanding suggestions given by workers for improvement in quality and working conditions.
