New Delhi, 04 August, 2023 : A certificate programme on Electricity (Power) Markets in collaboration with IIT-Roorkee was conducted by Power Management Institite (PMI) from 31st July to 2nd August in which 42 employees from various departments and stations participated.
NTPC Mining Limited (NML), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, India's largest integrated power utility, won the bid for North Dadu (East) coal block in the recently concluded coal block auction conducted by the Ministry of Coal.
After rigorous efforts and strategic planning, NML has secured the rights to develop and extract coal from the North Dhadu (East) coal block in Jharkhand, which has 439 million tonnes of reserves with peak rated capacity of 4 million tonnes per annum. This will be the first commercial coal mine of NML.

The event was jointly conducted by the Macau Management Association (MMA) and All India Management Association (AIMA). The games were organized online from 12th May to 11th July 2023, featuring top teams from across Asia.

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) received the Letter of Award for 550 MW Solar Project at a tariff of ₹2.56/kWh, won in RECPDCL's 1250 MW ISTS-Connected solar tender published in Dec-2022. This power will be utilized under the GoI’s Aug’2022 scheme for flexibility in Generation and scheduling of Thermal Power stations through bundling with RE capacity. The project is to be executed within a period of 18 months and will require capital investment of ₹2800 Cr .
The Country’s largest power generator - NTPC Ltd., with a present group installed capacity of more than 73 GW, declared unaudited financial results for Q1 FY24 on 29 July 2023.
NTPC Group generated 103.98 Billion Units in Q1 FY24 as compared to 104.42 Billion Units in Q1 FY23. NTPC’s standalone gross generation in Q1 FY24 is 88.55 billion Units as compared to 90.49 Billion Units in the corresponding previous period.
NTPC Coal stations achieved a Plant Load Factor of 77.43% as against the National Average of 70.38% during Q1 FY24.
