Thanks to training centres set up by the state-owned power generator, women from the region are now operating 100 T trucks in the Pakri-Barwadih coal mines at Barkagaon.
Barkagaon/Ranchi/Dhanbad, 6th October, 2020: NTPC Ltd, India’s largest power producer, has suffered an estimated production loss of 900,000 tonne of coal in September as operations at the company’s Pakri-Barwadih mines were completely halted since September 1 due to local agitation. The agitation, which is driven by vested interests, has not only halted the mining operations but also stopped coal dispatch and infrastructure development activities like construction of mine end CHP and cross country conveyor.

The Country’s largest power generator- NTPC Ltd. with a group installed capacity of 62910 MW, declared the unaudited financial results for the second quarter and half-year ended 30 September, 2020 on 2 November, 2020.
The gross generation of NTPC in H1 FY21 was 127.86 Billion units as against 130.14 Billion units during the corresponding period of previous year. NTPC Coal stations achieved PLF of 61.26% in H1 FY21 as against the National Average PLF of 49.58%.
