NTPC received the Digital Champions Award during PSE Summit 2024 at Jaipur on 14th June 2024 for Robotic Process Automation (RPA) implementation in Commercial Billing Process. Shri Ajay Kumar Pathak, AGM (IT), Shri Kameshwar Singh Nirwan, AGM (IT) and Shri Kuldeep Singh, DGM (IT) received the award on behalf of NTPC.
Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is implemented in Commercial Billing Process which involves reading Regional Energy Account (REA) documents published in region-wise Government Portals, processing the data, and using the same for generation of Commercial bills. The whole process is automated in SAP apart from the initial process of reading data from the REA documents and processing them suitably for ingestion in SAP billing, in short REA document processing. This solution provided intangible benefits by automating manual processes resulting into reduction of manual effort and possibilities of human error since this process requires very high level of precision.
