Simulation Software for Electrolyser and Fuel Cell

Simulation models for electrolysers and fuel cells are being developed for performance assessment, design and operating parameters optimization which shall help in design and operation of commercial scale plants

Rationale

Simulation Software for electrolysers/fuel cells shall help in assessing the impact of different parameters (water quality, cell voltage, current etc.) on electrolyser performance. Development of simulation software (based on pilot test results) shall help in replicating test results for large systems. Also, the simulation models shall help in optimization of design and operational parameters for large scale hydrogen generation plants.

Brief About the Works being carried out

NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) has been signed with Schneider Electric (SE) for development of simulation model. Based on the design and operational parameters of pilot plants, simulation models shall be developed by SE. Optimization and validation of the simulation models shall be carried out based on the test results of various experiments which have been planned on the pilot plant as a part of the activity. Initially, the development of simulation model is planned for Pilot AEM based hydrogen generation plant installed by NTPC at Dadri
