Largest power producer ends FY20 with 13% addition in total installed capacity

NTPC augments its Hydro portfolio by 2,625 MW

New Delhi, 28th March 2020: India’s largest power generator, NTPC Ltd today announced that its total installed capacity at the group level has risen to 62,110 MW after stake acquisitions in North-Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) & THDC India Ltd (THDCIL).

NTPC with nation to fight against Coronavirus

New Delhi, March 28th, 2020: NTPC Ltd, India’s largest power producer, has stepped up it's vigil against global pandemic of COVID-19 by converting it's hospitals into dedicated Covid-19 units.

NTPC has already utilised its 45 hospitals/health units to make isolation facilities and procured requisite number of equipment for the medical staff to handle such cases effectively.

As many as 121 beds, with all facilities, have been turned into isolation wards in these hospitals.

The Corona pandemic has failed to dent the spirit of NTPC, India’s largest power producer, in providing uninterrupted power supply to the nation. Every power station of NTPC has risen to the occasion and is performing at its optimum level. The COVID-19 crisis has underlined the significance of the power utilities, which have assumed greater significance as electricity is extremely critical in smooth functioning of several sectors of the economy. NTPC is also efficiently managing the coal supplies for continuous supply of electricity.

NTPC exhibits exceptional operational efficiency: Achieves 100 percent PLF at three of its power stations

New Delhi, May 10th 2020:* NTPC Ltd, India’s largest power generator, has achieved 100 percent Plant Load Factor (PLF) on 9th May 2020, at three of its thermal power stations. NTPC Vindhyachal (4760 MW) in Madhya Pradesh, NTPC Talcher Kaniha (3000 MW) in Odisha & NTPC Sipat (2980 MW) in Chhattisgarh achieved 100 percent PLF, demonstrating exceptional operational efficiency and optimum capacity utilisation.

At the same time, NTPC Koldam in Himachal Pradesh is emerging as one of the best hydropower stations in the country for FY20-21.

NTPC accelerates Learning & Development Opportunities for 19000 Employees and their family members during the Lockdown period

New Delhi, 1st June 2020: NTPC, India’s largest power producer has offered learning opportunities to its 19,000-plus employees and their family members.

Republic of Mali has awarded Project Management Consultancy contract to NTPC for development of 500 MW Solar Park.

In an event held on 24th June, 2020, chaired by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Power, NRE, Skill Development and President of International Solar Alliance (ISA), Sh. R. K Singh and Honorable Ambassador of Mali, H.E. Sekou Kasse handed over the Project Management Consultancy award letter to Sh. Gurdeep Singh, CMD NTPC, for development of 500 MW Solar park in the Republic of Mali.
